1. GENERAL RULES COVERING JUNIORS ON THE WATER

All documents below assume the following basic principles, all of which currently  stand:

i. In line with RYA guidelines and Windermere lake bye-laws a junior is taken to  mean a person under 16 years of age.

ii. Juniors will only be allowed on the water when a parent or guardian are  present at the club throughout the activity.

iii. The OoD will have the final say as to whether a race will take place and  whether individual juniors or juniors generally can take part if it does.

iv. An OoD running a scheduled race will have first call on all boats and  equipment.

v. With the exception of the desirable provision of a second safety boat, OoD’s  will not be expected to make any special arrangements or changes to  scheduled races for experienced sailors when juniors are taking part. Rather  the juniors concerned must be judged to be competent enough to take part  in these races.
